Anne Campbell Campaigning for Cambridge

Voting

I am actively involved with the Labour Campaign For Electoral Reform and with Make Votes Count, and play a key role in discussions on voting reform and the role of the House of Lords. There is an urgent need to reform the voting systems in the UK so they reflect the number of votes cast. The present 'first past the post' system results in anomalies where parties secure significant percentages of the vote, but only a tiny percentage of seats. Most winners have more votes cast against them than for them.

Make Votes Count are campaigning for voting reform and you can sign their petition and find out more about their activities on their campaign website.
