Public Services
Since 1997, the Labour Government has pursued a modern and progressive agenda for public services, and I have seen the effects of these improvements all over Cambridge.
With more teachers in our schools, hospital waiting lists at their lowest since 1987 and police numbers at record levels, people in Cambridge are benefiting from hard-won achievements and decisions made by Labour.
The Tories are committed to £35 billion cuts in public services, and these will directly hit front line services.
Labour is committed to making public services fairer and more personal. We will make reforms that mean patients are seen more quickly and given more choice; school standards will continue to rise so that every school is an excellent school, and we will work with local communities to give people the resources to ensure their security.
