10 Reasons to Vote for Anne
1. Anti Social Behaviour - Anne has campaigned for the Labour Government's legislation to be put to further use in Cambridge to tackle anti social behaviour, street drinking and neighbourhood disturbance. She has been out on the beat with the police and seen first hand how hard they work to try to keep Cambridge safe. (more details)
2. Advice surgeries - Anne holds advice surgeries twice a month, and helps people from all across the city with their problems. (more details)
3. Opportunity Links - Anne founded the service that has helped thousands of Cambridgeshire parents arrange childcare and find new jobs. (more details)
4. Good voting record - Anne has attended 82% of votes in parliament - 76th out of 657 MPs. Charles Kennedy, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, couldn't be bothered to vote on the recent Prevention for Terrorism Bill because he was preparing for a TV interview.
5. Pensioners - Anne holds coffee mornings for pensioners. Many pensioners who have attended these events have told Anne how much better off they are thanks to the Pension Credit that the Labour Government introduced. The Lib Dems and the Tories voted against the Pension Credit. (more details)
6. Recycling - Anne launched a consultation exercise on recycling and environmental issues after it came to light that the Lib Dems were failing to meet Government recycling targets. (more details)

8. Buses - Anne challenged Stagecoach over the cuts to bus services in Cambridge and has successfully persuaded them to back down over some routes. She is determined to continue to push for changes. (more details)
9. Lobbied for more money - Anne secured more money for the County Council and schools, resulting in a 11.2% increase in funding this year, 8% last year and 11% the year before.
10. Labour's economic record - Under the Labour Government we have seen the longest period of sustained growth for 200 years, and we will continue to deliver economic stability, low interest rates and sound public finances. (more details)
The Alternative
The Lib Dem controlled City Council has:
Put up council tax, and will continue to do so with their plans for a local income tax.
Wasted money on the night bus - there is a £10 subsidy per ticket on these routes.
Rejected a petition from 2000 residents asking for a DPPO on Mill Road to control street drinking and anti social behaviour.
Failed to meet Government targets for recycling - in fact when the Lib Dems took control of the Council, recycling levels fell.
Left £6 million from rents in accounts rather than spending this revenue on improvements to the housing stock.
Created Area Committees at the cost of £100,000, but failed to tell anyone about them.
Achieved the lowest rating in an audit of council housing repairs.
Cut community funding in areas that need it the most, leading to the closure of playschemes.
